CNC Machinist
Shift: 1st shift 6am-2pm
Pay: $20 - $26/hour based on experience
Location: Allegan, MI
Job Description:
Utilize acquired skills and experience to set up, program, and operate HAAS VMC's and a slant bed turning center to efficiently manufacture parts.
• Review prints, set up CNC machine, program machine or call up saved program, and operate CNC machine
• Full command of various NC machining processes including milling, threading, and tapping
• In depth knowledge of setup techniques to insure optimum quality and productivity
• Ability to perform advanced inspection of your own work before quality sign-off
• Achieve established quality and productivity levels that are documented on the production paperwork
• Self-directed with excellent time management
• Utilizing scheduling data from posted dispatch lists as well as the Production Supervisor, maintain a smooth job flow throughout the NC department keeping the other NC operators busy and productive
• Utilize the ERP System to accurately record production activities including time spent, quantity produced, and any rejected parts
• Perform daily, weekly, and monthly PM's as required
• Ability to lead, direct, and teach as well as work alongside other CNC operators
• Reports to Production Manager
Qualifications:
• High School diploma or GED
• College or Trade School certifications
• Proficient in all types of measuring tools, gauges, and devices (height gauges, calipers, depth mic's, thread gauges, and angle gauges)
• Must know how to program G and M code.
• Proficient in reading blueprints in both English and metric using geometric tolerancing
• Strong understand of shop math with the ability to calculate upper and lower tolerance ranges from the blue print data
• Must be reliable and have transportation
Required Skills:
• Must have 3 years experience in CNC set up and programming
• Must have 5 years operating CNC machines
• Strong understanding of feeds and speeds
