Full-Time Dog Trainer / Sitter / Walker

A wonderful family in Annapolis is seeking a dedicated, experienced Dog Trainer/Sitter/Walker to care for and train their energetic 2-year-old Doberman. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about working with dogs, especially larger breeds, and who can bring both professional training skills and warm companionship to their beloved pet.
About the Role:
The family is looking for a professional who can provide consistent, positive training, daily exercise, feeding, and overall care. This is a full-time, Monday–Friday role (9:00 am–5:00 pm) with the flexibility to occasionally stay later when the family has evening commitments, and to provide overnight care in the home when they travel.
Responsibilities include:
Ongoing training and reinforcement, ideally with experience in Dobermans or similar breeds
Daily walks, structured exercise, and playtime
Feeding and maintaining a healthy routine
Companionship and supervision throughout the day
Dog sitting at home during family travel
Maintaining consistency in behavior, boundaries, and routines
Be that trusted, go-to person who the family (and their pup!) can rely on
The Ideal Candidate:
Has proven experience training and caring for larger breeds (not just personal pet ownership)
Brings patience, reliability, and strong communication skills
Is trustworthy and comfortable working in a private household setting
Truly LOVES dogs and enjoys spending time with them
Bonus if you have prior experience working in private homes with professional training responsibilities
Schedule & Compensation:
Full-time: Monday–Friday, 9:00 am–5:00 pm
Flexibility for evenings and overnight stays when needed
Compensation: Commensurate with experience, negotiable for the right candidate
