Safety Coordinator - Ponca City, OK

Shift: 2nd Shift | 3:00 PM 12:00 AM, MondayFriday | Weekend on-call as needed | OT rate paid for 6th and 7th day worked

Position Purpose

The primary purpose of this position is to partner with plant leadership to promote a proactive safety culture by identifying and eliminating hazards before an incident occurs. Assists the Safety Manager with the implementation and maintenance of policies adhering to local, state, and federal environmental, health, and safety regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist the Safety Manager with reviewing and revising existing programs as well as implementing new safety programs to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
• Partner with operations and other plant functions to review work practices and recommend changes to reduce risk.
• Provide direction for incident reporting and investigation processes, including root cause analysis, corrective actions, and tracking to closure.
• Develop and deliver monthly plant safety training; review and update training programs to improve effectiveness and compliance.
• Conduct specialized safety training and evaluate its effectiveness.
• Perform audits and inspections to assess compliance with Corporate Safety programs and regulatory safety standards.

Qualifications Must Have

• Minimum 2 years experience in an industrial manufacturing setting (including assembly/machine shop).
• Supervisory experience in a fast-paced, high-volume facility.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred.
• Ability to work 2nd shift schedule with weekend on-call availability and overtime flexibility.
• Experience with safety programs, incident investigation, and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to conduct safety audits, training, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Nice to Have:

• Undergraduate degree in Safety or related field.
• CPE, CSP, or CIH certification.

Physical Demands / Work Environment

• Requires sitting, standing, and walking primarily on level surfaces throughout the day.
• Reaching above shoulder height, below the waist, or lifting up to 25 lbs as needed.
• Exposure to manufacturing areas requiring PPE such as safety glasses with side shields and hearing protection.
• Work performed in a mix of office and manufacturing environments.
