JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Title: Security Supervisor
Reports To: Lead Security Officer and/or Resort General Manager
Responsible For: Security Guards
Salary Range: $ 17.50 DOE

Scope of Job:
Supervise security personnel, administer and facilitate operational security activities of the resort. Guard Resort property and guests against fire, theft, vandalism and illegal entry.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Establishes operational procedures for activities such as traffic control, administration duties and patrolling physical property of the Resort, this includes securing Resort buildings after hours, orienting and monitoring of personnel involved with classified information and investigation of accidents and criminal acts.
  • Responsible for maintaining a working acknowledge of all applicable laws such as Resort Rules and Regulations and guidelines pertaining to Havasu Landing Resort.
  • Patrol all Resort buildings and grounds and related areas, securing all doors, windows and gates to ensure that all alarms have been activated upon closing.
  • Enforce all Resort Rules and Regulations and handle violations and/or infractions according to Rules and Regulations.
  • Apprehend and/or detain persons engaging in suspicious or criminal acts.
  • Ensure that all Security equipment and vehicles are in proper working order.
  • Awareness of emergencies such as fire, health, and security hazards which are reported to Lead Security Officer and/or General Manager and to follow protocol.
  • Report all employees for theft and misuse of Resort property to the Lead Security Officer and/or General Manager.
  • Monitor all aspects of security and safety procedures and recommend changes to Management.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training officers, planning, assigning and directing Security work, performance management, rewarding and disciplining officers, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Ensure that Security Guards apply all current fees and/or rates in the issuance of the appropriate passes to all vehicles entering the Resort.
  • Provide escort by vehicle for the transportation of all funds, deposits and other business related items to the Administration office.
  • Report and record data such as property damage, unusual occurrences, incidents/accidents and/or malfunctions of equipment or machinery.
  • Perform any and other duties or assignments directed by the Lead Security Officer and/or General Manager.
Qualifications :
  • Must be age 21 or older and have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be able to use a computer to complete and review detailed incident reports, send emails and pass information to subordinates and management.
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Associates Degree, or one year related experience and/or training, or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Security, military or police experience required.
  • Effectively develop a good rapport with guests of the Resort and Resort staff. Provide excellent customer service either individually or in a group situation.
  • Must have the ability to apply common sense, an understanding to carry out instructions, and the ability to solve problems.
  • One year supervisory experience required.
  • Must have experience in investigative and interrogation techniques. 
Physical:
  • Must be able to perform all duties required for the position.
  • Requires sitting and standing during an 8 hour shift, walking 1-2 miles during an 8 hour shift, and frequent bending .
  • May be required to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must have good vision (corrected to 20/20).
