Wheel Loader Operations Technician

Location: Richmond, VA

A day in this role

When your shift begins, you’ll step into a fast-moving operation where timing and precision matter. You’ll start with equipment checks, ensuring your wheel loader is in top condition. From there, you’ll move, load, and transport materials across the facility, coordinating with teammates to keep product flowing. Throughout the day, you’ll balance safe operation with speed, capture accurate material counts, and lend your know-how to newer operators learning the ropes.

What you’ll do

• Operate a front-end/wheel loader to move and stage materials safely and efficiently across the site.
• Perform routine inspections, basic maintenance, and pre/post-operation checks to keep equipment operating at peak performance.
• Apply safety procedures at all times to protect yourself, your coworkers, and the work area.
• Work closely with the yard and production teams to coordinate movements and avoid bottlenecks.
• Maintain precise records of loads and material movements; promptly report any variances.
• Assist with onboarding and coaching new operators on safe, effective equipment use.

What you bring

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Hands-on experience operating front-end loaders or comparable heavy equipment.
• Strong commitment to safety practices and regulatory guidelines.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced setting with shifting priorities.
• Clear communication skills and a team-first mindset.
• Valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain required certifications.
